And now...

He's out. Took a long time and if I moved he woke up- til about 10... Then he was finally good and out and I could do some laundry. Fun fun!
Hope you all had a fabulous memorial day. Thankful for all our soldiers.

Levi

He wasn't the happiest of campers. I got him to nap by strolling him but he woke up too early. I tried to stroll him again- he enjoyed the stroll but didn't care to sleep again.
He still has tons of teeth coming in. Poor guy. I know he has to be hurting.
My mom had her knees replaced Thursday and Friday. She went home today. Amazing.

Fuzzy

I took this from the dining room and had to zoom- so it's fuzzy. But I thought it was too cute how Levi was looking at David trying to play the guitar.

Friends

We went to Rick and Carol's for dinner. They have 2 girls who are Abigails best friends. They also invited the Spanns who have 3 girls and 1 boy. Noah spent the night with Simon Saturday- the girls were dressing up- so they did too. CP was also there. We had a great time.

Look how well they get along

We saw the fireworks from Dickey Stephens ballpark. Parked right in front, walked in, found seats, and the fireworks started. Levi wasn't in the mood for activity- he was tired- so after walking around with him a bit, I took him to the car. The rest of the kids loved them... Especially Elijah.
Traffic was horrific getting home. They all fell asleep.

Isn't he cute?

We saw him turn from bright green to brown. Also saw him stick his bright pink throat out- but of course never when we snapped the picture.

Cleaning

Abigail, Levi, and I went to the mall and Old Navy. David took Isaac and Elijah to the Pipe and Tobacco shop (no worries- it has a special vent system that makes it not smoky). Noah is spending the night with a buddy. Abigail and I enjoyed our girl time. Levi put up with it well. We got a few summer dresses. No great deals unfortunately.
Now we are all outside watching dad clean out his car.

Happy Birthday E

Tomorrow anyway. He got these crocs today from Granddaddy. We took Isaac to a party at the zoo then went to Academy to buy a bday gift for a party Noah had. We walked by crocs and E started saying 'sponge bob shoes'. I thought as calling them that bc of the holes. Out of parents' line of sight but perfectly within a toddler's were these shoes. He put them on immediately and was sooooo excited.

Die Fledermaus

David didn't want to do anything about the bat. I didn't want the bat riding aound on the car. I thought of the youth minister's boys at church- they catch fish out of the creek with their bare hands. I figured one of them could knock it off. Told their mom about it this morning. Tonight, one of them came up to me and said his mom told him about the bat... He goes out there... Few minutes later he comes back saying, 'that bat wasn't all the way dead yet.'. OH MY he kicked at it and the dern thing fluttered aroud on top of the car!!!

Terrible

Ha ha, showed this to students and one said "it's the bat-mobile"

Made me cry when I saw it. His poor little claws are gripping the grill. This would be bat 'grill kill' from last night's sign outing.

Election Day

I think I could curl up on this bed of rocks and sleep. I am exhausted. I haven't been sleeping well at night- going to bed late bc of one child and waking early bc of another... And up thruout the night. Today I was up at 5:30 after a restless night. Not only did I wake often but I did so fully. I usually wake and go right back to sleep without becoming coherent :)
BUT it has been a great day. We've gotten a lot of 'thumbs up' so we feel good about this precinct. Who knows though- we don't know how they really voted. I'm glad I was able to come. My mom and stepdad have the kids. I've never been away from Levi anywhere near this long- but he's in good hands.
We have about an hour left and then we'll head home. Things are slowing down here though it has been a steady flow all day. David will wait for results at NYPD (pizza place). I'll return to the kidddos :) please Lord- let them all turn in early!!!

Spring Concert

I knew I couldn't make the previous post any longer, but when you have become as bad a blogger as I- I had more to say once I finally got around to saying it.
Friday night was my choir concert. It went so well. It was a great day bc I had nothing to be nervous about. My kids were ready. We didn't go to state so we could give a good concert for spring. We usually don't have time to learn much new music bc state is the middle of April. It was a tough decision but it was the right one. I am so proud of them. They all sang so well.
The Elementary Choir sang:
Kids on Broadway (broadway medley, solos, costumes, SA)
Spring Quiet (SA a cappella)
For Good (SSA)
On My Own (SSA & solos)
I'm Yours (SSATTB with 2 guitars and a ukulele & solos)
True Colors (SATB a cappella & solos)
Into the West (from Lord of the Rings- SATB & solos)
Esto Les Digo (one of our region pieces- SATB a cappella)
Praise His Holy Name (region piece- SATB)
Lean On Me (SATB & solos)
Somebody to Love (SSATB & solos)
(There were also 2 duets)
It was a lot of fun. May just have to stop going to state so we can keep doing a GOOD Spring Concert. We typically sing our region music and throw in a couple of pop/broadway pieces that we are practically sight reading.
SO that pretty much ended my year. Still have Baccalaureate and Graduation- but I started losing students from class on Thursday and will lose more next week. Then finals begin on the 24th.
I made it :). This has been a tough year. It was great to end on a high note :)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to MY mom! My mom has been coming down to watch Levi and Elijah since I returned to school Jan 25. That's what it was before David decided to run for office. Since then- it has turned into a LOT more. I haven't just needed her during they day- but at night too bc David isn't here. One mom alone with 5 kids- one needy baby, one cantankorous tot, 2 argumentative boys, and 1 very helpful daughter whom I depend on way too much when my mom ISN'T here... It's tough. Funny how that works. I remember the day I was told Levi couldn't come with me to school. I was CRUSHED. I didn't know what I was going to do. I can't stand the thought of an itty bitty being in daycare. I want him with me. After a few days of tears, my mom said if I can't find another solution- she'd come down. Well that gave me some peace.
I didn't want her to have to do that and did work it out with my church for him to go there 2 days. David is there and the kids often see him when they go to lunch- that makes me feel better. SO she has been coming Tues afternoon (for honor choir) and staying til after my classes on Friday. As grateful as I am for her being the one who is usually with my babies- it has been wonderful having her here at night when David is not. Levi gets very needy, kids are bathing, E is... Well, E... And it is just crazy.
SO happy mother's day mom! I cannot thank you enough.
ME... I am watching Julie and Julia as I type this blog on my blackberry :) and drinking coffee. Also got a gift certificate for an hour massage. Love that and love that there was a gal at the event the fam went to yesterday who had a chair set up for mini-massages AND an advertised special (hour long massages). Ha
