So much has happened the past two weeks. Last week was a whirlwind and in the midst of it, Levi weaned. He has only nursed at night for several months now. Wanted him to wean around 18 months, but it didn't seem like it was ever going to happen. I haven't slept all night long since before Elijah was born... and that's fine. It comes with the territory. But, I was ready to be out of this stage. He didn't seem to be anywhere near ready though so I was just waiting. Last week he went back to sleep with me patting his back. He still wanted to join us in our bed, but at least he didn't throw a fit when I didn't let him nurse. And wha la, that was that. Friday he slept all night. Was hopeful for Saturday... but no. He woke up a LOT. I must not have fed him real well before he went to bed b/c I do think he was hungry, but he still went back to sleep without nursing... just in our bed. Sunday night... he slept all night again... and last night too!! Only problem is *I'm* still not sleeping all night. I'm too used to waking up. This morning I woke up at 5am and could not go back to sleep. Tried for an hour and then got up. Couldn't get to sleep last night either b/c my spring concert was last night and I can't ever get to sleep after a big event like that. So even though he is sleeping all night, I'm still operating on 5 hours and coffee :( But I'm sure this will pass too and then I'll be getting a full nights rest and maybe then I can stop using Visene! ha
Concert went GREAT. I love my students so much. I don't think there is a job out there better than mine. I love what I do. I am blessed to teach the best students at the best school. And I get to teach them to SING, how can it get any better than that?? I'm very fortunate. I can't wait to watch the DVD. It was longer than I thought... I thought it'd be about an hour, but we never ran straight thru it so I didn't really know. I think it was about an hour and 40 minutes. Oops. But we got an instant standing ovation (not one of those obligatory ones where one parent stands and everyone else eventually does so that that one person doesn't feel stupid). Definitely the best spring concert we've ever had. They were much more prepared than usual... concert was later than usual. After graduation even... and I won't do that again b/c it was tooooo crazy last week with way too much to do... but it worked this year.
All year long I've gotten sick the day after something... Madrigal Dinner, CPA (and I think both region and state I got sick the next day)... but this time I got sick before. Was sick last week in the midst of the craziness.
Now life calms down. Only 2 weeks of school left... and then I'll be REALLY busy... at home. It doesn't ever calm down. But I"m looking forward to not having to keep up with so much. Physically it is harder when school is out.... but mentally it is so much easier. And my brain needs a break!
Look at the cute little rubik's cube stool/storage cube my Elementary Honor Choir got me (with an awesome gift certificate to Indulgences Spa in it. It looks just like the rubik's cube I had when a kid... unsolved.

The piece of foam on the left has been up Levi's nose for a month or so. I'm not sure when it went up. I remember him tearing up one of those foam paint brushes... but I don't remember how long ago that was. I thought he had a raisin in his nose. Took him to his regular doc (the awesome Dr. Gray) who sent us to an ENT b/c it was so far up. Thankfully, David was able to take him there and I didn't have to miss my last day with all my choir kids before the spring concert... or endure holding him down as it was taken out. He had some numbing spray put in his nose first... so at least it didn't hurt.
We have now added the piece of foam to the jar containing the french fry and the fusion bead that went up Noah and Elijah's noses... only difference is they were 3 and never put anything else up their nose after that. Levi is 19 months. Not real sure he'll learn not to do it again... we'll see.

Happy Mother's Day

I had my pick of all restaurants for dinner Sunday night... I picked Larry's. I love their chicken honey mustard pizza... but most of all I love that the kids can go play in the game room and I can eat to my heart's content. Even without tokens (as above) they are happy in there.
David got me a Ninja blender. Been needing a new one. Our wedding gifted blender was on its last leg.

Don't know what it is but I'm glad Mia killed

Found out it is a skink. Harmless smooth scaled lizard. Still glad Mia killed it and spared me a freak out. I now know what it is and *hopefully* will not freak out if I see another. But I don't know. Snake with feet=total loss of control.

He found these puppies and just kept hugging them like this. Adorable.
